We've done a Know-How on various router modifications you can/should use, but how do you save them when you update your router firmware?

 

Specifically, I have ~ a dozen-ish machines using a LAN each with a specific static lease, i'd rather not type in (or even copy paste) each IP/MAC/device name  

 

surely there's some way to back these up to an xml like file?

It really depends on your router. If the configuration is linked to the router firmware version you're screwed. If not, it may work. I'd look in the manufacturer's knowledge base to figure it out. Usually low cost routers have their configuration liked to the firmware as a rule of thumb.
