G+_Keith Mallett
Ok Fellow KIA's - give me your suggestions for music players for Android. My ipod has finally given up and I have a Galaxy S5 that support 128g so there is plenty of room for music. I want to be able to create playlists and play them with only a few taps. G+_Travis Hershberger
I paid for BeyondPod years ago now. Still works quite well. You add a feed, tell it how many episodes to keep. It will then automatically download new episodes, remove old ones, and automatically play whole categories for you (I have a "Science and Tech" category widget on my home screen, touch it and it starts playing everything in that category.) I already have BeyonPod for the man podcasts I listen to (TWIT has over 30 shows now you know). I'm looking for an music player the likes of iTunes... G+_Steve Martin
Do you have all of your music DRM free? Much of the original music from iTunes had DRM, and you could convert to non-DRM for awhile for a single fee. If so, then you can copy the music over to the Galaxy and try the built in Samsun music player. I don't know much about the features however. I personally use Google Music All Access. For awhile they didn't have the Beatles and I just uploaded my own music. You can do that as well, depending on how large your music library is. The Google Music app is very good, has playlists, search (of course) and lots of other useful features.
G+_Ben Reese
I just use the HTC Music player if I'm playing local content (which is very rare). Otherwise I use the Amazon Music app mostly or Google Music.
G+_Keith Mallett
Good recommendations Steve Martin and Ben Reese, thank you. I prefer to listen off-grid with locally stored music. I often travel in areas where data service is not good and I spend most of the warmer weather on two wheels so I don't like having to play with buttons once I'm moving. I liked the ipod because of the storage capacity but hated it because of the need to have exposed shin to change things once I was moving. I will take another look at the streaming services but I think I'm set it my ways when it comes to streaming music.... Thanks guys!
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Apologies if someone already said this but I like google play quite a bit. I've uploaded over 6k songs and can access them from anywhere. All free. I think the allow like 50k songs for free. I use beyondpod as well for all my podcasts. cheers.
