G+_Jason Gipson-Nahman
So, the screen on my 2012 nexus 7 just cracked (after accidentally dropping my nexus 4 right on top of it). Now there are some dead spots in the screen. I was already bummed about the decrease in performance after the lollipop update, but I was willing to live with it. But now it's near impossible to use. I loved the 7 inch form factor and low price tag, not to mention pure Android. Any good suggestions for a replacement?
G+_N. W. Dood (Networkdood
Man...nexus 7 2013 or N9 or that new Nokia tablet... Lollipop has been good to my Nexus 7 tablet...
G+_Jason Gipson-Nahman
Afraid the nexus 9 is bigger than I want, and costs a bit more than I want to spend. May look for refurbished 2013 N7
G+_L I
What about the Shield tablet? It has Lollipop already.
G+_Craig Lambert
I am getting ready to attempt to replace the screen on a N7 (2012) for a friend. They can't afford to get something new so they're willing to take the $50 gamble that things will turn out well. It should be a fun thing to do. I've found that since I have my Note 3 and Chromebook, I never use a tablet any longer. I think larger phones have killed the market. How about just getting a Nexus 6? G+_N. W. Dood (Networkdood
I bought a Coolpad 9976a, a while back...with an SD card you can get 128 additional GB of storage...
G+_john ferris
I primarily use my N7 (2012) for gaming and it now is just unbearable with real racing 3. If you game a lot I recommend the nvidia shield tablet 16gb. Generally same size as N7, younger, and has an SD slot for expansion. It does cost more so keep that in mind. G+_Leif
The shield might be a great option for people coming from the Nexus 7. It seems like there are currently some bundles available which include a free controller.
