G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Ok. So the mini FPV quadcopter build. Will there be soldering involved?
G+_Travis Hershberger
Yes. Probably lots. Course that thought makes me smile, don't know about most people tho.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Is there a specific gauge of solder I need to get? I haven't done this since I was like 10 but I'm all in. Already ordered the parts. lol.

G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Cool. I will prepare myself for possible burns and try not to solder my digits together. Silver?
G+_Eddie Foy
If it smells like chicken you are holding the wrong end :) You don't want silver solder. Too hot a melting point. That's mainly for brazing. Lead Tin alloy. Having the 1 or 2% silver in the mix is pointless for quads.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Lol. Thanks, Eddie.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
I have my fat shark goggles, and my devo 7. Those should work. Just need a flight chip, eh?
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Some parts are out of stock but you can find them at banggood, amazon, or various other places. :)
G+_Larry Havenstein
I would get more specific about the solder even. I have reciently tried the cheap solder that the chinese are fending on us and its crap. Buy good Kester brand solder and you will have the best results. Normally I don't get brand specific but in this case its worth the effort to.
G+_Larry Havenstein
Kester is available in small tubes and in spools on Amazon.

G+_Stede Bonnett
I like Kester 331 63/37. It has an organic flux that you can clean up with a nylon brush and water when you are finished, and is a bit more forgiving than the 245 no-clean style. If you get the .031 diameter it's pretty cheap in 1lb spools and that could last you for years of these sorts of projects.
