G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Hey guys! So I need to connect my esc's to my flight controller. I think I need to connect the ground cables but there is only one. I'm going to cut and solder them, of course. Reason I'm asking is I connected them w/out ground to cleanflight and the motors would not spin up using the GUI.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Maybe I need to connect it to my PC via UART?
G+_Travis Hershberger
Without ground the electrons have no place to go! Think of an electrical circuit as a circle, if the electrons can't get back to where they started from they don't "go". So if you're powering them from a battery, the positive and negative(ground) wires both need to be connected.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Ok. So can I connect them all to the same ground wire?
G+_Travis Hershberger
Yes, common ground is fine.

G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Thanks Wayne Hobbins ! This video will help a lot. Very hard to find anything about this cc3d mini. I didn't think the rev would be so similar but I guess it it.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Don't know why he's not using sbus for the reciever. Pretty sure I can.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
All engines are go! Thanks a lot, guys. I believe my testing is done. Everything is spinning and working in cleanflight like I wanted. Now I just need to start building.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Wayne Hobbins? do you think my cc3d mini would use the same bootloader / os as the revo?
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
I'll have to go back to Libre pilot and check it out. Cleanflight doesn't like my transmitter very much.
