G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Hey, guys and gals! Got my Diatone 150 up and running. Only problem is I don't have enough batteries. lol. Can I use 4s batteries with a jst plug? What batteries do you reccomend. Thanks a bunch, my friends:)
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Well I ordered some 3s 850 mah's. Should last a bit longer. In the future I might switch to 4s and just switch out the plug. Is it safe to use 14.8v in a 12v connection?
G+_Chris W
Most switching regulators will handle that small voltage difference with no problem, but I'm not sure about the esc's. They sometimes (I've heard 'usually') use linear regulators, which could overheat badly with a higher-than-design voltage. I'd look up the input voltage spec on all your onboard gear just to be sure. G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Yeah. I'm not too concerned w/ the weight. Already registered anyways. I just want the powah! I'm still learning rate mode so it'll be a while before I decide to switch up but this thing is so fun!
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Lol! Carson Black It's too late for me now. Already planning a 210 or 220. Maybe xhover or lumenier.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
But I've put in some hours on "Liftoff" the simulator on steam. Helped a lot with just getting the right muscle memory going and some practice when the weather sucks.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
I'll post some videos once I get this damn thing flying ><. G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
Wayne Hobbins You're not tripling the size I don't think. I've got 850 mwh 3s batteries weighing 70.2g. I've seen 850 mwh 4s weighing 101g. So about an extra 30%.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
I don't think so. Every pro pilot I hear from says the 4s batteries have way more power and responsiveness than the 3s's. They all use 4s for all their builds.
G+_Brian “Yikesfpv” Gipe
And I keep melting my jst leads. lol. Need thicker wires I think.
