G+_Graham Whitehouse
After listening to the show I thought I'd share my use of Tasker. I am far from technical and only scratch the surface of a stunning app - but hey, the question was asked... 1. I use my Nexus 4 in the car (for netcasts) so if I have the Bluetooth connected when I insert the earphone plug, it turns the volume up to max. 2. I use Runkeeper, so when I start the app, it turns up the multimedia (I'm not wearing headphones) for the audio cues and it turns the phone ringer down - don't want to be disturbed. 3. When I am on my home Wifi I disable the lock screen and PIN, it re-enables when I leave the house. 4. Same as above for a Bluetooth connection in my car - don't want to keep unlocking it in the car. 5. Between certain times, when plugged in and on my WiFi, it mutes the sounds (the tweak for the WiFi is so that the phone still rings at night if I am away on business. 6. I found the clock too bright even when dimmed right down at night, but unlocking the phone to see the time was a pain, so I turn off the screen but leave the proximity sensor running, a little wave and the clock shows up for 30 seconds then turns the screen off again. As I said, very simple examples, but make life simpler for me without configuring lots of different apps. G
G+_Kent Smith
Very good ones. I like the Tasker use for the lock screen and bluetooth. I need to try this again.
G+_Paul Werner
Number 6 sounded the most difficult but cool
