Wanting some opinions of Moto X (2nd gen) vs Nexus 6

Wanting some opinions of Moto X (2nd gen) vs Nexus 6. My current daily driver is an iPhone 5s. However, I'm wanting to convert to Android because I'm heavily invested into the Google-sphere, and my only tie to Apple is my phone.

Main uses of my phone are: GPS (I'm in my car at least 2 hrs a day), videos (Netflix & YouTube), some school work (DeVry online), and web surfing.

Other than difference in size (which isn't a deal breaker to me), is one phone more user friendly than the other? I know the cameras aren't the best on either of these devices, but I'm not trying to be a pro photographer and typical pics are just fine.

Oh and I'm wanting to get a Moto 360 to pair with this. Any and all comments are welcomed. Thanks!!?

Hi Jason,

either phone would suit your purposes here my thoughts

1. the software on the Moto is almost the same but with a few extra features, if these feature don't interest you hen from a software point of view they are the same.

2. they have a lot of overlap in components so I wouldn't be surprised if the GPS chip is identical.

3. Just be sure you mean what you say re the camera, the iPhone 5s camera will be better then either of these devices.

you have definitely decided on 2 of the best Android phones on the market so you cant go too wrong either way. Please just test the camera first, you might not want pro style but they can be a little less reliable than you are use too.

I have not found the extra Motorola software to be as great, as it was advertised.  Fortunately, you can not enable any of it, and you are left with a nearly stock version of Android.  Being able to customize the phone (I have a wood back), is great!  The hardware and performance are both good.  The camera is ok, but with software like Snapseed...I don't really care.

The Nexus 6 offers, generally, faster updates.

The MotoX has Moto Maker, which is awesome. Also, there are some added features, like wave to wake ActiveDisplay (the notification screen), and twist twice to open the camera.

Other than that, almost all of the major additions from the MotoX were baked into Android 5.0 (provided you have supported hardware).

As far as the Moto360, it will work the same with any Android device running 4.3+.
