G+_Oliver Jackson
I just have a some questions before I start to order the parts for the KH 250 quad. 1. Would this be a good battery for it? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__63396__ZIPPY_Compact_2700mAh_4s_60c_Lipo_Pack.html 2. Is this the receiver I would need to get? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Flysky-FS-T6-High-precision-2-4GHz-6CH-Mode-2-transmitters-W-receiver-/181786009846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a534a60f6 3. I would like the flight controller pre soldered and I was just wondering if I was to select it I would get two flight controllers (I'll include a link to show you what I mean) http://puu.sh/j7OTl/66c36b7008.jpg 4. Also on RTF quads they have 3.5mm gold connectors(bullets) but they only have 12 of them, I would assume that's only for the motors 3*4 = 12. You said that you would need to buy 20 pairs so would I need more? http://puu.sh/j7Pbe/c52850be15.png 5. I've never flown a drone or anything RC before, just done nitro and electric RC cars before, so I was just wondering if it would be better to get the 1806 2300KV motors instead? as the other ones say that they're advanced the 2208 2300kv motor. What exactly does the first number mean, I've been trying to find out online but to no avail. 6. Would this be good glue for the screws? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003ZUXQIA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?&ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&th=2 Sorry for the amount of questions but I don't want anything on the order to go too wrong as I'm buying this all from the UK and the last thing I want to do is to send things back to the US. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Flysky-FS-T6-High-precision-2-4GHz-6CH-Mode-2-transmitters-W-receiver-/181786009846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a534a60f6
G+_Robert Beaubien
1. Way too big a battery. 1300-1800mAh battery, 40c or better. 2. Receiver depends on the transmitter you have. If you plan on getting a taranis, then the receiver you want is the FrSky D4R-II ( http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24788__FrSky_D4R_II_4ch_2_4Ghz_ACCST_Receiver_w_telemetry_.html ). 3. CC3D or NAZE32 (DragonFly32, etc) is just fine for your needs. Both types can run CleanFlight. If you get soldered, I recommend 90º pins, not straight. 4. Solder your Motors directly to your ESCs. 5. 2208's are too big. 1806s or 2204s, your choice. 1806s are good starter motors as they typically cost about 50% less. 6. Blue threadlocker is what you want: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Permatex-24206-Medium-Strength-Threadlocker-Blue-08-oz-Bottle-/370861963644?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item565918797c
G+_nn tt
don't get the FS-T6 remote. The newer FS-I6 has telemetry and some other stuff for about the same price. Hobbykings version the TGY-i6 has free shipping and it is at 40.87. If you get either the FS-i6 or TGY-i6 systems know that the receivers that come with them are the NOT PPM receivers and do not have telemetry with model number "FS-iA6" The PPM version of the receiver that also have telemetry is the "FS-iA6B" http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__74037__Turnigy_TGY_i6_AFHDS_Transmitter_and_6CH_Receiver_Mode_2_AR_Warehouse_.html
G+_Robert Beaubien
The D4R-II has telemetry and PPM and provides 8ch. It is perfect for 250 size quads.
G+_Oliver Jackson
Robert Beaubien I would get it but I just don't have the budget for it(taranas). Thanks for the help, I think I'm going to get this battery: http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__78350__MultiStar_Race_Spec_4S_1400mAh_40_80C_Multi_Rotor_Lipo_Pack_For_FPV_Minis.html What do the C numbers mean is it just 40C = 40*1.4A? Also when it mentions peak discharge Does this look good too? http://puu.sh/j7XK1/b8f350c1e1.png I still want to do the 3.5mm bullet connections as I want it to be somewhat modular.
