G+_Rusty Bryant
It would be great to see a playlist of Synology app How-Tos detailing setup and usage of Chat, VPN, Cloud, MailPlus (Server and Client), etc. There are a lot of Youtube videos out there but most as not in English. Thanks!
G+_Ronald Stepp
I’d just love to see a how-to on putting a new drive in. Got one for my parents, and had a new drive installed for a week, never would even initialize or format or anything. The Synology NAS just sat there and I never did find anything on their site on how to force the NAS to see the new drive. So stuck with 3 drives in it since then. Bought myself a Drobo 5N and it works like a champ, put in a new drive and within minutes it is being set up. If I could afford it, I’d buy another Drobo for them. Most of the Synology software was way too complicated to setup and use.
G+_Rud Dog
This continues to amplify the need for a KH type show diving into the important steps in creating project ideas in many areas. This is clear signal to any creative and motivated person(s) to launch such a channel. Yes YouTube videos are great but it can take a lengthily amount of time finding one encompassing all the traits of an most excellent video. G+_Dan Hockey
Ronald Stepp My Synology did the same thing. I had to use a usb adapter and gparted to create a partition table on the drives. Put the drives back in and the Synology and it formatted drives. Once formatted I set up the raid and that was it.

G+_Dan Hockey
It's disk drive utility that can be found in most linux distros. It will let do lots of things that windows will not let you do with out having to buy special software. If you haven't used linux before download ubuntu ubuntu.com - Download Ubuntu Desktop | Download | Ubuntu Boot from dvd or flash drive and select the option "run as live cd" I don't remember what they called it. The live cd has gparted installed, otherwise if you installed ubuntu on a real computer or a VM, you would have to install it manually.
