G+_Nolan T
I have the new Kindle Fire ( the cheap $50 one) and I would like to be able to view the downloaded Know how videos on my TV, will something like Chromecast work for this? By the way I have Hughes satellite internet and have only 10gb a month , so NO streaming like normal people. I also have some ripped movies that I can watch on the Fire using VLC ,but would like to be able to watch on the TV too. Am I asking too much? Thanks for any insight
G+_Jason Davis
Chromecast and amazon fire stick both allow mirroring of Android devices. Firestick plus a plex server works real well that what I have setup to play just about any downloaded content from my computer.
G+_Ben Reese
Plex might be your best bet - or KODI on a Fire TV Stick. The Fire tablets won't work with Chromecast without rooting (I don't think anyhow). I think Fire tablet will mirror to the Fire TV, but don't have a recent Fire tablet to try with. VLC has Chromecast support built-in, but pretty sure that requires Google Play Services. VLC might also support the Fire TV mirroring... Kodi supports DLNA and there might be other Fire TV apps that do as well. Plex would probably require that you copy those videos to a PC where the Plex server is running, but then Chromecast or Fire TV or smart TV apps or Roku could stream from there. G+_Nolan T
Found on Amazon help. Important: If you do not see the Display Mirroring option in Display( in the Settings)., your Fire tablet does not support display mirroring ..yep, you guessed it, it ain't there I may have to see if I can maybe get Plex on my WinXp outer, or cobble together something...like maybe jump into building a RaspberryPi media sserver and plug it directly into the HDMI on my TV
G+_Bill Boelke
It might not be built in depending on what version of tablet you have, but can be sideloaded to make it work. Here's a guide. http://allaboutchromecast.com/how-to-use-chromecast-on-amazon-fire-tablets-fire-hd-fire-hdx-and-kindle-fire-hdx/
G+_Steve Martin
Be careful. Use the Lo-def stream. 10GB/month will go in a heartbeat. I can't stay under 10gb a day ?

I bought a Windows10 laptop at a pawnshop for $148 It's an HP with a Celeron 2.16Ghz.. 4Gb ram and 500Gb HDD and 15in screen....SWEET! ?
