Hello Kitas... anyone have a reasonably decent Smart plug that just works?

I have 2 iHome smart plugs I got in a 2 pack at Sams club a while back that work ok, but they have issues wanting to work consistently. I do have to give the company Props because when they send a email saying they were having a critical firmware upgrade that needs to be done, and mine wouldn't recognize that there was a update available, they sent me 2 brand new one at no charge.

The problem I have been having is that they become unresponsive when trying to use them with my Google Home Mini. I use one to turn on and off an l.e.d strip that I use behind my easy chair and one for the laptop charger that is plugged in a sorta hard to get at place.

Usually at night when I am going to bed, and I use the new Google Home routine that I have set to turn off all the lights ( 2 TP Link smart bulbs) and the 2 plugs, I get the "Hmm... there was a glitch try again in a few seconds" ... sometimes I can tell the Mini to Sync my devices and then it will work... by the way I dont have any trouble with the Smart Bulbs.

I used to use the iHome app to turn them on before I get home in the evening but I couldnt turn them off in the evening with the voice control except after more fiddling around with them or unplugging them and having the reboot... Im thinking the app is not up to snuff.

I may get a couple TP Link smart plugs and just use the one app for the bulbs and the plugs

just use x10 been good to me for 30 years and don't need to boot a phone or computer to run things.

Only security issue with my stuff, is a house or two on my pole transformer might be able to turn off my air conditioner.

If your wifi goes down so does your Internet Of everyones Things
