G+_Josh Frye
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ I am not sure if you and the other drone/robot hobbyists have heard about this: http://www.itworld.com/article/2989202/hardware/meet-snickerdoodle-an-affordable-powerfully-maker-focused-raspberry-pi-rival.html?phint=newt%3Ditworld_personal_tech&phint=idg_eid%3D18e4420415abbffd5f3a67d2bceef4d6#tk.ITWNLE_nlt_personaltech_2015-10-07 http://www.itworld.com/article/2989202/hardware/meet-snickerdoodle-an-affordable-powerfully-maker-focused-raspberry-pi-rival.html?phint=newt%3Ditworld_personal_tech&phint=idg_eid%3D18e4420415abbffd5f3a67d2bceef4d6#tk.ITWNLE_nlt_personaltech_2015-10-
G+_610GARAGE
That looks cool. It's kindof like a beaglebone black, but with many more pins (the beaglebone black also leverages fpga for I/O). But it is really unfair to compare this to a pi. The pi is meant to be a cheap linux computer. Not a full fledge embedded solution.
G+_Josh Frye
610bob I know the target market for this is drones and robots, but I wonder how long it will take for someone to turn this into a room control device. Or a HAVAC controller.. or any of the other endless possibilities I can see, but could not for the life of me program into it.
G+_Eddie Foy
No built in Ethernet? Deal killer for me. (PoE would be ideal) Does the wifi do monitor mode and injection?
