G+_Nicholas Mattis
Hey everybody. I've been a long time flyer of the syma x5c and it's time for an upgrade. I've been watch the 250 builds closely but I'm not sure if that is right for what I want to do. I'm looking for a quad that will be enjoyable to just fly but when I want to I can attach a gimbal to it and get some really nice aerial shots. I'm not sure that's possible but I just wanted to get input from the community. Thanks!?
G+_Carlton Dodd
You can use the basic ideas from the 250 build, but scale up a bit. Look for a larger frame you like, maybe larger motors (lower kv is okay) with ESCs to handle them, larger props. You can add features from there. G+_DTJ W315
I'm with the comments on the alien 450. I followed the Padre's build and absolutely love it!!! I run 10.5 inch carbon fiber props for stability over maneuverability, but it's easy to switch out to smaller props for 'fun' flying in the field. I run 920Kv motors and a 4000 mAh battery and it's great. Just got a gimbal and gopro for it, but before that I had an old Iphone 4 strapped to the front which worked surprisingly well. I'm all in (excluding cam and gimbal which were a gift) for maybe 250/300 bucks tops. Worth every penny!!!! It flies beautifully even with a doofus like me at the controls.
