G+_Nelson Schrock
Here's testament to the durability of the Syma X5C. I lost one in a tree on September 6, 2015. I couldn't see where it went. I kept going back to find it and never saw it. I was driving by the tree today and saw it, still in the tree. I took a long pole and knocked it out of the tree. Took it home, replaced the battery and to my utter surprise, it still works! It's been in that tree for months.
G+_Carlton Dodd
The only problem I've ever had (3 total X5-SCs) has been the plastic gear coming loose of the shaft on the motor. This is likely from my dad getting it stuck and gunning the throttle. It's hard to find replacements for the larger diameter motors of the SC. If anyone knows where to find replacements with metal gears swaged in place, I'd appreciate a link.
