G+_Roy Gangle
If I use the hard drive(s) and USB flash drive I use for freenas are they locked in forever with it? I tried the freenas but didn't seem to do what I wanted. The hd and flash drive don't read now on a new pc I got. Well the 4gb flash does but shows 1gb and the hard drives I used don't show but they still work with freenas. I tried what little knowledge I know. Hope I explained my need of help enough. G+_Taylor Graham
Just reformat the USB drive and the hard drives. The hard drives can be reformatted from Windows disk management. Just click the start menu, right click my computer, select manage, then go to disk management. Right click the drive that you want to format, right click it, and select format. The USB can be formatted from the my computer screen. Just right click the drive and select format drive, you'll get all 4gb back
G+_Roy Gangle
When I try to format the flash drive it only formatted what the freenas did not use. And the hd shows in the device manager but not on "my computer".
G+_Taylor Graham
The hard drives will not show in "my computer" until you've formatted them with a format windows can work with (NTFS). The USB drive might be partitioned. Can you see the usb drive in disk management? I forget if usb drives show up there. If so, just delete both partitions and create a new one. You'll see different "blocks" in windows disk management. Just right click the blocks and select delete volume. Make sure you don't delete your OS volume :D

G+_Taylor Graham
If you cant do it from disk management, use some utility like this: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/restoring-your-usb-key-partition/
