G+_Kenton Hock
Fun question / thought! The new Macbook Pro laptops have USB-C and they can charge from any of the USB-C ports. What would happen if you plugged the USB-C into 2 ports. As if you were trying to charge the laptop from itself?
G+_DigitalMatrixIO (Eric L
At Best - Litereally nothing, at worst a new paperweight. If the ports don't have some sort of short circuit protection I would be surprised.
G+_Black Merc
Eric Leone?? thoughts of short circuits are laffable. First of all a short circuit is an unintentional path arround a load. Second the usb-c spec. ensures that the very idea is impossible(the same way the mac laptop magnetic power connector could NEVER connect improperly)
G+_Ben Reese
I wouldn't expect any short circuit. The port probably doesn't provide enough power to charge another device, so probably would try charging itself. Since Type-C can be client hand host, I wonder if you could mount the laptops drive as a USB drive that is then connected to itself...
