G+_Ben Hommerding Posted May 29, 2013 Share Posted May 29, 2013 Gina Trapani Jason Howell When you guys discussed the merits of Rooting, a couple of things that I think are pretty important to Rooted user are the ability to Freeze or Uninstall apps. This would be useful for things like Browser so you don't have that issue of Android asking you to choose which one you want to use, and that app doesn't then run in the background all the time either slowing things down. Second, many people have rooted their phones so they don't report tethering back to the carrier. Granted, this should be something that shouldn't matter anyway as carriers should allow you to use your data anyway you see fit. Anyway those are a couple of great reasons to Root and have a Custom Rom even if it is mostly AOSP! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
