G+_David Peach
To emboss my pocket notebook I imported an SVG version of my office logo into TinkerCAD. Then extruded it up 6 mm. Flipped it over so I had the mirror image of the logo. Added a 3 mm rectangle as the base. Then I used C-clamps and blocks of wood to squeeze the logo into the front cover of the book. You may think that it is not necessary to print the base so thick, but 2 mm for the base was not sturdy enough to apply equal pressure across the logo when it was clamped down. I recommend practicing the technique before trying it on something important. I embossed my web address on a couple of items to help me find out what doesn't work well (2 mm base being the main thing). This turned out better than expected. G+_Tom Sargeant
Some ink and a roller and you could print the Logo too.
G+_David Peach
Tom Sargeant I need to sand it a bit more to get it flat for printing. Going to play with that idea.
G+_Scott Wilkinson
I did a similar project on raw leather, so the leather could be moistened, which helped. But I used liquid nail to glue the print on to a 3/4 plywood backer, and another piece of plywood on the back of the leather. This allowed considerably more pressure to be applied with a bench vise, resulting in a very deep impression.
G+_David Peach
Scott Wilkinson next time I'm going to hit the cover of the book with a little heat from a hair dryer before doing it. I think that will give a better impression. Mostly I'm compressing the cardboard layer under the fake leather cover.
