G+_David Peach
Time to apply a little glue stick for this print. It is a model that has successfully printed twice and failed 4 times due to build plate adhesion. I'm not sure why it is so problematic, but I probably should not have set it to print and then taken a 1.5 hour nap. The next attempt, with glue stick, worked great. G+_Clay Weston (Rapido Rac
I use water diluted PVA glue on the glass. Best thing I've tried.
G+_David Peach
When I use glue I use an Elmer's glue stick. Not sure which one. I've never had a print not stick using that. But I do prefer hairspray when it works. Releases much easier. The glue stick sometimes requires a whack with my spatula to get the part to release. G+_Giligain I.
This is one opinion (you didn't say whether you are printing PLA or ABS or some other mixture): THE SECRET TO STICK PLA PARTS TO THE BED
G+_David Peach
+Giligain I., thanks. Most of the time this isn't a problem. Not a why that particular model is an issue. I just need to reslice it if I'm going to print more of them. I agree with Ivan that a soap cleaned bed would probably do the trick. I've set mine up where I get great heat transfer from the heated bed but that makes it less convenient to remove the glass.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Also... Aquanet Unscented Extra Hold hairspray works REALLY well. (Just make sure to have a bottle of rubbing alcohol so you can wipe down the bed in between prints)
G+_Shooter_FPV (Shooter_FP
David Peach Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ I have the Maker Select Plus, and I NEVER have an issue with build plate adhesion. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones... I just make sure I wipe the plate with rubbing alcohol once a week, and I also level it about once a week, depending on how much I use it. I even bought a borosilicate plate and all that, but haven't had to use it... yet... As soon as my order of white PLA comes in I am going to do a huge Starship Enterprise print, so we'll see... G+_David Peach
I think it is mostly a slicing issue for mine. Some models work well and others don't. I like playing with the numbers on my slicer and can't leave well enough alone when something is working. If I wanted stuff to work perfectly every time I would stop being a maker and become a consumer. :-)
