G+_Forever Purple
I love you guys and the podcast but I have to be an ass and point this out... The phrase is 'Slowly BUT surely' and not 'Slowly BY surely' #thatisall
G+_Martin Todd
Oxford dictionaries (Oxford University Press) accepts this phrase so I think AAA can use it...

G+_Vance McAlister
My guess is that whoever used the phrase knows that it should be "but" , but in the heat of the moment and on the fly, weird things happen.
G+_Forever Purple
Vance I feel like he's said it before. Its not as bad as people who say 'nip it in the butt' though.

G+_Forever Purple
Chris Jackson I am addicted to British TV and after watching (binging) on the Inbetweeners I have nearly perfected my British dialect. Or so I tell myself when walking round my flat talking to myself like a twat.

G+_Larry Huisingh
John Adams Maybe they need a companion piece - "Spelling Nazis" (It's Grammar not Grammer).
G+_Jim Cullen
My favourite (read: least favourite) mistake of a common idiom is "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less". By the way, Martin Todd, do you mean to say that Oxford Dictionary accepts the phrase "slowly by surely"? Because as far as I can tell they don't.
