G+_Jason Granzow
You have to be careful how bright lights hit the Pixel's camera.
G+_Chris Clark
They're working on fixing that.

G+_Kenny “KitkatRai” Rouss
Apparently it's not a problem with the pixel alone. It supposedly can happen to any smartphone camera
G+_Luke Meiritz-Reid
Kenny Rousseau? Hmmm haven't had that problem with my Samsung S6 Edge Plus
G+_Chris Clark
Google publicly acknowledged that there is a lens flare issue with the Pixel camera and they are working on a software update to fix. Yes, it can happen on any camera, one of the iPhone models had a terrible purple flare issue until they fixed it. Just have some patience and it will be fixed. G+_Derek Petersen
Apparently it's a hardware issue caused by the glass panel on the back of the phone that surrounds the camera lens, but yea, Google is gonna try to implement a software fix to mitigate the flair when HDR+ is being used. They won't be able to do anything about it when HDR+ isn't being used.
G+_Stephen Butler
Derek Petersen that's interesting if trust simply cowering the glass panel should fix it. Tomorrow I may get the masking tape out and experiment. It's so easy to reproduce the lens flare, it would be an easy two min test. I don't think it will fix the over exposure of lights. Max from High on android had a great comparison video of the 6p and pixel, and in low light the 6p beats it almost hands down in most settings. G+_Pradyumn Vij
Apparently the issue is with the reflection on the white Pixel however I've tested mine and can't get it to produce the halo, I'll try again tomorrow though.
G+_Robin “SirIzzyBlack” Wi
Pradyumn Vij I took the photo with a black Pixel XL's rear camera. The halo effect seems to be avoidable for the most part.
G+_Stephen Butler
Max done a second comparison video with the hdr+ set to 'ON' instead of 'AUTO' and the results are almost identical. The pixel, pixel xl, and 6p, are identical almost in dark light .
G+_David
So far I haven't seen the halo at all, even when taking lots of pictures with the sunlight just out of frame. I've just been fortunate I guess.
