Well I noticed today on Kinja Deals that you can get ONE bud on sale at Amazon for $40. It includes a charging case that gets you 2 more charges.

I bought the two bud set and the way they work is the right ear connects to the left and the left to the phone and since you body is really great at blocking signals the right ear keeps dropping out a lot other then that they work pretty good

Update: I unpaired and repaired the two channels and haven't had any problems with dropout since
