G+_Jeff Laurin
Just a quick note on a recent email re: the Galaxy Note 4. The reason (I'm assuming) the writer was so in love with the Note 4 was likely because it was the last Note to embody those things that (imo) made a Note a Note. These were larger phones with removable storage and expandable memory and the absolute cutting edge specs for "road warriors" and people who needed to "get things done" on their phone. What we had with the Note 5 was an abandonment of these things. No SD slot no removable battery and IIRC only a slightly bigger screen than the Galaxy. This has continued and it's a shame. The current note is not anything I would be interested in while I remember wishing I could afford a Note 4 when it was the best of the best with every option available. G+_Chris Clark
The new Note has the best processor on the market, the highest RAM currently available, enough internal storage, plus removable storage, the largest screen on a flagship, plus waterproofing and probably the best camera on the market. Other than a removable battery and IR blaster, what else do you want from it? I keep hearing this argument from old Note fans and I really don't understand it. The Note 5 I got, no removable storage (which I don't mind, but some do), but since the Note 5, almost every hardware feature has come back except 2 and new things like water resistance have been added along with new and better uses for the S-Pen. So what is the new phone missing that makes you not interested?
G+_Andrew Carvalho
I'm sure it's a very capable phone and I wouldn't kick one out of bed for eating crackers however - it just seems like a Galaxy 8+ with a pen in exchange for (a tad) less battery. Also, it's just so much money. The S-Pen is still an attractive feature, but right now how is it different than the Galaxy phones. The only thing differentiating it is the S-Pen. I should note (ahem) here that I'm currently not interested in the Galaxy phones either. Fantastic hardware - some of the best - but just not what I am looking for. In the past Notes distinguished themselves from all other Android phones and were unique and perhaps niche - now they are just a Galaxy + a pen. I mainly wanted to comment on what they changed from the Note 4 to the Note 5 and that I wish they had continued to offer something different (at one point they were unique and in their own category). Again, if I could afford one/justify the cost to myself it'd probably be a damn fine phone to use.
