G+_Larry Havenstein
Although having a firearm safety segment on its own would be a great idea. Even if you been using firearms for years refreshing the facts is always a good idea.
G+_Michael Heinz
TBH I'm pretty neutral on the issue. I support gun rights but I've never felt a personal need for a weapon. (Of course, if I suddenly discover I do need a weapon it might be too late...)
G+_Ben Reese
Maybe James Todd is right. This would probably make a better episode for the TWiT network instead: (with the Hippo and Padre cam's, of course).
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Well... looks like I was right about this topic being a lightning rod. Of course... more interesting is the fact that a far greater number people are just worried about us giving Bryan Burnett a gun than us covering guns in general. G+_Eddie Foy
Did Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ just troll his own group? :D
G+_Steve C
What would really make a good show is an episode showing how to BUILD and AR-15!
G+_Steve C
AK-47 is too hard to build at home though, takes a lot of bending and riveting. To build an AR-15 all you have to do is assemble it which is easy and fun.
G+_T Nohands
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ It's just as important to teach what can happen & what to do when something goes wrong! So use Bryan Burnett as the model for practicing first aid! Wrap him up like a Mummy :P
G+_T Nohands
Lightning Rod? Is Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ running experiments on the community for his own amusement?
G+_Ben Reese
We definitely need a KH-15.
G+_Jim Donaldson
I don't have any issues with guns or gun owners, I just feel this subject is too removed from the core tech nature of Know How.
G+_Jason Perry
+Steve C, if the zombie apocalypse happens I will be ready. Let me state my bias I am from a country that only has 31 people with firearms per 100 as compares to the U.S. with 89 per 100 people. I am also comforted with knowing that as per 2011 stats there were only 158 crimes involving guns in comparison to 11000 in the U.S. I will give you however that number would come down to 1100 if we adjust for the difference in population. G+_Phorest Sherwood
I fully support this. Whether you are on either side of the argument, if you are in a situation where a firearm is present you need to know the safety requirements. Too many people think they get the safety, and they are the ones that get involved in accidents.
G+_Phorest Sherwood
If you are looking for good firearms for a survival kit. I love the ruger 10/22 breakdown for a rifle. And the ruger 22/45 pistol. Ammo is cheap, lightweight and once again readily available. Both guns are reliable, and inexpensive. I have several, but these are what I keep in my BOB. G+_T Nohands
After Seeing Padre & Cranky Hippo trying on Masks on the end of today's show! Can't wait to see how Def Con changed them OR Revealed their aspirations to successfully break into a secret vault, pick the locks and get out! Maybe it's a Secret Def Con challenge to get badges :D Any response Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ it's looking pretTy suspicious. ha ha
G+_Steve C
Ammo for 22's is NOT yet available anywhere, at least not in Arizona. Everyone has lots of .223 and 7.62 though so it's better to stick with more powerful models.
G+_Phorest Sherwood
Steve, That's too bad. I have had great access, and at reasonable prices, in both georgia and Missouri. I was under the impression that was the case in the other areas. I've never had a problem with ammo for my AR's, but I suspect that is the case everywhere. You might have some luck as I understand that some of the .223 production has been shifted back to standard 22lr.
G+_Steve C
It's good that a few places finally have some back in stock but $0.10 each at Cabelas is still rather expensive.

G+_Phorest Sherwood
It's too bad that the preppers are grabbing them up. I've bought a couple of bricks (500 rounds) in the last few months in the $60 range. I'm going to a gun show tomorrow, I'll let you know what I find.
