G+_Marlon Thompson
Oh no she didn't Please note this is tongue in cheek I am not upset with Gina just poking fun while giving some facts Last night Gina Trapani made a joke at the expense of Samsung saying that Samsung probably had only a few VR headsets on their site no wonder they sold out then she quickly said oops here come the emails. Well also the G+ posts Miss Gina. The fact is Samsung is the first to push out a viable consumer VR headset, and while the requirements are limited (owning a Note 4) unlike the S5 those have been selling well. Also I have been impressed at how self aware Samsung has been about the product and their expectations. They stated If this is not gigantic right away, we shouldn't be disappointed by that. The criteria that we're evaluating our launch by is, "Do the people who bought it like it?" We don't even really care how many we sell. It's about: Do the people who bought it like it. Is it comfortable? Do they feel like it's compelling? Is it something they're showing their friends? They also speak about their continuing partnership with Oculus and how they know this will be a hard road but this is an area they are committed to explore and I can always respect a tech company for pushing boundaries even if I am not going to be personally picking up one of these but I am interested to see what developers do. You can read the fact sheet here http://www.engadget.com/2014/12/08/samsung-gear-vr-launch-faq/ So Gina lets give Samsung the benefit of the doubt I think more than 12 were sold and from some of the comments I have seen on some websites developers (or Samsung employees ..see I can do it too) seem pretty excited and positive about the project.
