G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Hey Know It Alls.... Any interest in model rocketry?
G+_Jeth Rigoroso
I'd love to but unfortunately Hawaii is a strict state with hobbies like these.
G+_Brian Leonard
I used to love making and launching rockets when I was a kid. It would be great to see a resurgence of this hobby.
G+_Harry Maciolek
I grew up launching rockets!

G+_Brent Burzycki
Sure but let's find out about restrictions first before you spend time doing something that nobody can go do....
G+_Rodney Olewiler
Yes, but living on east coast. I'm a little jealous of the desert guys and the altitude they can shot for
G+_Ben Reese
"The King of Random" has some fun DIY stuff for rockets: Would love to see the Know How version of that.
G+_610GARAGE
I think it would be an interesting project. But may I suggest waiting for spring (if you weren't planning on that anyway). Soon half of the US will be either cold or cold and snowy. So not as many people could follow along. Also, don't leave out bottle rockets. More accessible, cheaper, and easily reusable, if the rocket survives re-entry that is.
G+_Ralph Mills
I still have my range box out in the garage. (hope I removed the batteries from the launch controllers!) Model Rocketry for me was about like kite flying for Peanuts' Charlie Brown. Too many trees. Not to mention the non deployments of the recovery system. My own engine grading was: "A" Almost always recoverable "B" Betting I can recover it "C" Certainly unrecoverable Never flew "D" engines but I'm sure it would have been "Disastrous"
G+_Eddie Foy
Drones vs rockets!
G+_Eddie Foy
610bob its going into summer below the equator. The internet is global. :P
G+_610GARAGE
Eddie Foy But the US is the center of the internet. :) Just kidding. But seriously, I would wager that most of Know How's audience is in the northern hemisphere.
G+_Travis Hershberger
I landed one on the flag at one of those grade school science competitions.
G+_Jason Perry
Eddie Foy, I hate to say it, I am with 610bob The quad episodes started when I was buried under snow. PS I'll take an Aussie winter over a Canuck winter any day.
G+_Travis Hershberger
Eddie Foy Can I use emi/magnetic sensors in my rockets in the rockets vs drones .... 'competition'?

G+_Eddie Foy
...and not all of the us sees too cold winters. lots of it is manageable for outdoor activities. (plus the added ESC and battery cooling)
G+_Ben Reese
Perhaps a floating launchpad is in Knowhow future? Quadcopter designed to launch rockets?
G+_Travis Hershberger
Ben Reese While we're at it make the rocket launch system auto tracking and loading. Heck, might as well give them basic heat seeking or rf tracking on the rockets themselves as well..... you'd just have to be sure not to track any transmitter frequencies (unless you're evil that is.) G+_Travis Hershberger
Would you do a segment on packing your own rocket motors?
G+_Larry Havenstein
Sure there is lots of interest in Model Rocketry. Especially if you are including rangefinding or altitude sensing or any of the electronic additions. Packing cameras into a rocket is fun too. G+_Larry Havenstein
Then there is the Radio Control Boost Glider angle.
G+_Michael Heinz
I flew rockets from middle school thru high school. Having a hobby where you don't expect to always get your aircraft back was good preparation for flying quads...
