G+_Marlon Thompson
I would love to see Jason Howell do a review of this on BYB. just so we can get some Yellowgold :) http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/03/18/ik-multimedias-irig-2-the-first-digital-music-interface-with-android-support-is-available-today-for-40/ http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/03/18/ik-multimedias-irig-2-the-first-digital-music-interface-with-android-support-is-available-today-for-
G+_Art Thompson, Jr.
I can't imagine the latency being very low on any but the most recent devices. Intriguing nonetheless.
G+_L I
Wasn't the latency issue fixed in KitKat or Lollipop? I seem to remember Jason or Ron saying something about this on AAA once.
G+_L I
" The iRig 2 is currently fully compatible with the Galaxy Note 3/4 and S5/6/Edge on the Android side, and other Android 5.0 devices are also supported but "can't do low-latency processing." I'm not exactly sure what that means (or what the iRig 2 can do on those devices), but I've reached out to IK Multimedia and will update when more information is available. G+_Art Thompson, Jr.
Lionel D I read that, hence my comment. Was I the only one who found it odd that the author so bluntly admitted his ignorance of low-latency processing? It's the first thing that comes to my mind when looking at audio recording interfaces. G+_L I
Art Thompson, Jr. Yeah he should at least spend 5 minutes googling the issue. Probably waiting for comments to roll in and fill the knowledge gap.
G+_Andre Brown
I think the iRig UA will be the one that blows up huge for Android musicians, check it out http://www.ikmultimedia.com/mobile/products/irigua/
G+_Art Thompson, Jr.
That's the info I was looking for. This has now elevated from "intriguing" to "tempting."?
G+_Andre Brown
Art Thompson, Jr.? $99... We need Jason Howell? to review this one first. lol!
G+_Andrew Cathrow
The exclusivity with Samsung is going to be a problem. I wonder how much is marketing vs reality. Sadly it's not as simple as just trying it out on a non-samsung device as the apps (eg. AmpliTude) are showing as 'not compatible' with non-samsung devices
