G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Hey KITAs, (I'm trying K.IT.As rather than KIAs, because... well... I don't want people to think you're all dead.) The new format of Know How has been well-received. It seems that you all like shorter shows with themed content. So... how you would all feel if instead of doing a 2 weekly 30-45 minute shows with three segments and two ads each, we instead did 5 INDIVIDUAL 10-15 minute segments with a single ad that was released daily? I think we can make them tight and bite-sized... perhaps increasing our YouTube viewership past the "1% of downloads" that we have right now. We'd also make it easier to find EXACTLY the segment that you're looking for, AND give you a new KH every day! Whatcha' think?
G+_610GARAGE
I would prefere this. I am having trouble keeping up with both episodes. Having individual segments as an episode would allow me to skip the topics I'm not interested in.
G+_Jason Marsh
I already have to manually clean out my podcasts folder on WHS2011 because I never found a good podcatcher that will interface with Plex to delete watched episodes. If KH will do a 'podcatching' episode that enables me to fix this, you can do 20 episodes a week.
G+_Kevin J McMahon Jr
I personally prefer the current format, 2 shows a week. But I also prefer to binge watch on my Roku. Overall it's probably better for growing viewer base if it was daily and broken up into separate videos on YouTube. Me personally though, I like watching Know How Monday nights before going to bed and usually catch up on the Thursday's episode if I missed it as well. However, I also don't care for the quadcopter segments all to much, I've got enough hobbies and no time to pick that up so more specific single segment shows would help me watch what I want to watch. G+_Black Merc
3 a week is my limit. Already watching kh, twiet, security now, and a few off the twit network. My watch time is full.

G+_Armando Perez
No way on shorter versions. As it is, the subjects are all over the board. Whatever happened to the Arduino projects and going further in depth. You killed Coding 101 for this. Where's Lou, lol. Add a project only podcast. G+_Steve Martin
I'd actually prefer longer and more in-depth rather than more/lighter content. As it is, you are already doing a lot of hand-waving and "read it in the show notes," stuff. IMHO Also, if you are going to do the "lighter" stuff, Linux is probably not the best thing to cover. Too many open source topics require lengthy examples.
G+_Jay Orellana
For me, I would watch no matter the format as it's the content (and hosts) that keep me interested.

G+_Jason Perry
Here is my thing, cutting it down to 45min I can handle. Dropping it any shorter, even 5min, makes it seem like sponsors have more time than the show. I like the new format and could stand a third episode. G+_Jeremy Webb
I like the idea. 15 minutes seems to be about the best size to digest how to videos. I agree as long as the content doesn't suffer.
G+_Keith Mallett
K IT A vs. KIA??? Don't really care. I work the graveyard shift so everyone thinks I died years ago.....
G+_Ben Reese
Time doesn't matter much to me either. I'd watch 5 x 10-min shows or 1 x 50-min show. I've typically just got a couple days a week to binge watch my YouTube subscriptions, so the 60-90 sec intro for each video might that many episodes a bit obnoxious. I'd survive though. G+_Jeff Gros
As Terrance said, if you can cover it well in 15 minutes. And that's the problem. With the current setup, I'm finding that the light weight episode of your biweekly cast leaves me wanting. I understand wanting to try out that 5 - 15 minute size that is so popular with youtube. Your viewership WILL probably go up if you make this move. There are also many successful youtube tech shows that follow this model, such as linustechtips. However, I really LIKED having the long videos. I like 2 hour episodes of Security Now that I can listen to in the background at work, or while playing Civ 5 (at home). I did the same with Know How last year. I'm just afraid the content will get too light or that your viewers will have "subscriber burnout" from having so many videos to look at. G+_Jason Eckelstafer
I'm with a couple others above. I think each segment could be 20 minutes long and be good. I feel the 45 minute shows twice a week leave me wanting a third. I think the poll responses are a little severe. Watch vs not watch is kind of dramatic. G+_JD Fuller
Shorter episodes I can throw in a candy dish by the door. Eventually I may get around to them. Rather sit down to a meal I know the current voting is for shorter but everyone seems to be doing that. And I'm watching them less or letting them run in the background like music videos. G+_Rud Dog
Direct and to the point while being entertaining is fine with me. There are way to many videos found in the YouTube arena which make you want to pull your ears off and pluck you eyes out. Keep up the great work! G+_Gilbert Knarr
I had to vote no. I liked the original and current 2 shows per week setup. I automatically download from TWiT and watch them during my lunch breaks (along with Security Now, TWiCH, and some TWiET). I do watch SN over a couple days though. Right now I download and watch every show, but if you switch I would have to cancel my auto download and start manually picking the shows that I watch so would end up watching less. Now there have been a couple of the YouTube videos that you posted in here that I have used my Valuable mobile data to watch but as a rule I don't do YouTube. I would still watch but not as much. G+_PCN
Sure, I'd watch, but 15 minutes seems too short to cover some of the topics in which I'm interested. How about 20-30 minutes?
G+_Brian Goossen
What is the benefit to increasing YouTube viewership? Why do you care if the viewers come from a podcast app or YouTube? I watch full episodes at a time so I would echo some of the issues already mentioned as the downside. By the way I love your show. Keep up the good work!!! G+_Jeff Gros
I agree with those that are saying 30 minute shows would be good. Perhaps you might try 30 minutes and 3 shows? If they were much shorter, I would queue them up. And yes, even though I voted "no. not interested", I would still watch. I don't think any of the KITAs would NOT watch. It's just that the survey didn't leave me much for options! =p I also wanted to point out that 5 * 15 minutes = 75, and 45 * 2 = 90 minutes, so I'm going to vote in favor of whatever gives me more "know how minutes"....which is why 3 * 30 minutes sounds so good!
