G+_Marlon Thompson
Mike Elgan brings the smackdown, and he's right. Originally shared by Mike Elgan Why OnePlus is the worst company in technology. (Read my column: http://goo.gl/rS0ggz ) From the beginning, OnePlus gained a reputation for making high-end or mid-range phones at budget-phone prices. Its initial OnePlus One phone was spec'd like a $500 phone, but priced at just under $300. That's a great way to win attention, loyalty, affinity and customers. Sadly, the company consistently squandered that reputation with a series of bad decisions. OnePlus was in the news this month because it had to apologize for mistakes with the launch of its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 2, which caused phone shipments to be delayed by weeks. In the same apology, the company also admitted that it "messed up the launch of the OnePlus One as well" and that the delays "caused huge reputational damage to our company." The errors, apology and damage to reputation are just the latest chapter in a long string of OnePlus blunders. As a heuristic exercise, let's review the infamous but instructive history of OnePlus: http://www.baselinemag.com/mobility/how-to-learn-from-a-phone-companys-mistakes.html #OnePlus #OnePlusOne #OnePlusTwo
