G+_jan s
Hi there, i was planning to purchase an intel dual core pentium processor for casual home browsing, occasional video streaming and occasional word/excel home use only and prefer to have keyboard to normal touch screen.. i read on popular review sites, that most people don't use full potential of core i3, i5 or i7 processors for home use and that normal processors are more than enough. Additionally i was constrained on budget so i settled on pentium processor based laptop instead of tablet. Since im a dedicated TWIT viewer, i value Twit KN folk's comments/views on the same. Appreciate your comments.
G+_Alex Knutson-Smisek
niranjan s most pentium processor based machines will be able to do all of the things you described. Your right in that most new CPUs at this point are overpowered for what the majority of people are trying to use them for. It sounds like a chromebook might fit your needs well as it seems like you mainly need a web browser, and you could use google apps for most other things. G+_Cole Brodine
I'd second the chrome book. There are some very affordable options out there if you just want a very basic PC.
