I would think iMovie for the Mac, but not sure if you can export a frame. For Windows, the best free one I know about is Davinci Resolve. There are probably other good stuff out there, so hopefully more people will answer...

And just so you know, my co-worker has a Bebop, with the full controller and everything, and he always seems to have problems with it, mainly fly-aways. His also seems to drift a lot, even though he has a GPS lock. It's actually at his desk as I type... I hope you fare better with yours than his...

For frame capture, I usually use VLC. The full-screen and screenshot idea would work too, I guess.

For video editing I use Blender. It's far from simple and requires a full re-render when you're done, but it does what I need (mixing multiple videos with transitions and separate audio).

A couple of years ago my son was into video editing. He used Lightworks. Free for home use. He even took a summer film class at a college and that was their editor of choice. Very capable, but with great capability comes some complication. I personally use Avidemux in Linux, but Lightworks may be a little more powerful. https://www.lwks.com/
