G+_Joseph Rivera
I know this isn't 100% Android but is anyone excited for this supposed device? http://phandroid.com/2013/07/19/ubuntu-edge-smartphone-leak/
G+_Jack Deslippe
I have been an Ubuntu user since 2007, but it is hard for me to get excited about this... I'd rank it lower than Firefox OS. There is much more to a mobile OS than making a Linux distro that fits into a small screen. An OS like Android provides a massive number of APIs powered by robust cloud services all optimized for mobile. Let me know when Ubuntu phone has the equivalent of: Google maps/earth/navigation/places and the amazing set of APIs surrounding them, Play services and games services, drive/docs, cloud print, G. sign in, app sync, location services, native calendaring and contact info that seamlessly syncs to compelling web apps, native messaging and video chat, image services like goggles, media stores for video, books, magazines, NFC services and payment platforms, real time voice actions and translate services, anything remotely like Google now and the ability to sync all this across devices. At least when Google started out they already had all the cloud services in place.
