I would like to know If I starting mining for litecoin or any type of coin would it kill my compu...

Yes. Whether you would notice anything before you replace the computer, depends. If your cpu/vga is welled cooled, and your power supply is properly sized, the computer would probably last many, many years. However, if you have a Dell special, I would hesitate, especially if it is your main computer. They are generally don't have good power supplies, and have small heatsinks. Also, if it is a laptop, don't. Those things generally aren't well cooled.

Just keep an eye on your system vitals. I would say that if your cpu gets above 150F, stop. Other than that, you would probably through the thing out before the silicon degrades.  However, keep an eye on your power supply. I would bet thats the item would take it the hardest. I have also found, a bad power supply; even with good voltage; can totally mess up system stability.
