G+_Vincent Panico
I have a Toshiba Satellite P75-A7200 there is a clicking noise coming from the speaker and at times it's just a black screen then it will come on I took out the HD and it still click through the speaker so I know it's not the HD should I reformat the HD? Any clues what this is thanks guys your awesome!
G+_Dominick Valentic
If you took out your hard drive and it was still doing it then I wouldn't worry about reformatting....maybe it's a loose connection? Does it happen on a regular basis or is it kind of random?
G+_Vincent Panico
It was random but lately it's been doing it a lot
G+_Dominick Valentic
Can you make it happen on demand? Like moving the screen on it's hinge? Noticed any patterns as to when it happens?
G+_Vincent Panico
No I can't do it on demand and hinges are fine still tight and moving it slowly and doesn't do anything if I let it sit for hrs it will come on and the clicking will stop from coming out of the speakers
G+_Ben Reese
Does it happen when Windows is muted? If so I'd assume a driver issue or maybe even the sound chip is going bad.

G+_Dominick Valentic
I found this about the clicking noise but it doesn't make a mention about the black screen http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Computer-Troubleshooting/Intermittent-optical-drive-noise/ta-p/271333

G+_Brandon Ingli
Not related to your particular issue but check your battery pack. Some from Toshiba have been recalled due to potential failure, overheating, etc. https://batterycheck.toshiba.com/?region=TAIS&country=US&lang=en
G+_Vincent Panico
No it's not the battery the laptop still won't come on
G+_Jason Marsh
I've had 2 Toshiba and one HP laptop in over the last few months that made clicking sounds in the speakers, and 2 of those had intermittent black screen at power-up or resume. Since all three died within weeks of the noises starting, I believe they were slow deaths caused by failures in the on-board power conditioning. It could be the power brick/wall wort inducing the noise, so you should observe whether the noise happens only when the power adapter/charger is plugged in. G+_Jason Marsh
You might try another power supply, but the motherboard may already be limping along.
