G+_Jonathan Brown (Chronic
In your know how free nas episode you said it is important to have more ram and a faster processor to expedite the process. If I have a slower computer could I use my primary PC to set up the raid then transfer the array to the slower PC, or is there a hardware abstraction layer issue like there is with Windows?? G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Unfortunately what you suggested is not possible. You don't need memory and processor power to setup the array... you need it to MAINTAIN the array. In other words, if you have little memory and poor CPU headroom, the NAS will just be dog-slow.
