Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ?, as you continue to discuss FPV, I was wondering if you were going to talk about FCC compliance, or lack thereof, in most reasonable transmitter setups.

In short, those of us without ham operator licenses will be breaking the law if we follow your purchase recommendations.

That said, following the law will really cramp our style as compliant transmitters are severely underpowered:

What shall we do?

I need to look into that technician class license I suppose.  This market is worse than the CB market was when I drove truck for a living.  I've not seen any notices on websites about needing a license for any transmitter.  At least I know that Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ has said that anything over 25mw needs some sort of license.  Haven't gotten myself in trouble yet as the parts for my FPV model are still trickling in.

Wayne Hobbins, I'm wondering if it's output power vs effective radiating power. That would be a seriously inefficient antenna. Or they state the max of the given circuit while hampering it in other ways.

Of general note, if I remember my RF, 200mW has only twice the range of 20mW, which makes a big difference at this scale but not as drastic as one would assume if counting linearly.
