G+_Duc Nguyen
Debating between Moto-X and Nexus 5 on GSM for 3 family members, doesn't have to be the same for all 3 - keep changing my mind then second guessing myself - Anyone own both that can give honest feedback? G+_Jimmy Servider Jr
Thought Im not a user of either, I would say either one is a good choice. Make the choice & stick with it. Im sure you wont be sorry. Good luck.
G+_Derek Duncan
I have the Nexus 5 and have had the Moto X. My dad has the Nexus 5 as well (NOT a techie). Are you buying off or on-contract? If on-contract, the X is the way to go, heck, even off contract the X is still cheaper at the moment. I would go with the Moto X since you can customize it, your family might like that. Maybe get the Nexus 5 for yourself and the X for your family.
G+_Ken Lank
Both are good choices ... Being on the AT&T version, I hate my Moto X being locked, but I still use it more than my Nexus 5. I like the notifications, touch-less control and size of the Moto X and find myself using it more than my Nexus. If I were to buy a device today, based on my experiences, I'd go with the DEV Edition Moto X. As for family members ... I originally bought the Moto X for my son but he didn't really use any of the Moto X "features", so I ended up giving him my Nexus 4 because he preferred the bigger screen for his games. So I think you really need to look at the "type" of user. Both are great devices.
G+_Jimmy Servider Jr
@ Ken, why didn't you get it through Google, it would have came unlocked.
G+_John Stacy
Ken - we bought the moto-X through Motorola when they had a deal at Christmas, (and they have a deal now also) - we got the GSM T-Mobile so it was unlocked, and now have that on AT&T - what would the difference be with the developer edition? G+_Ken Lank
Jimmy Servider Jr The Moto X isn't available through Google. Also, when I bought it origionally, I did not know that the AT&T version could not be unlocked (XT1058). John Stacy Yes, I know Moto still has the deal until 2/14, but don't really have the money to get another device. From what I have read the T-Mobile and Dev edition phones are both the XT1053 model, so they are the same.
