G+_Mulbah momo
Hi, can someone help me? i have a blackberry STL100-3 with no OS but want to install one. the phone does not come on and you put on charge but see only a red blinking light.
G+_Eddie Foy
Are there any power on button combos to put into recovery mode? If there is no bootloader, I think you are poked. I find no OS a bit doubtful.
G+_Ben Reese
The no OS thing does seem a bit odd, but apparently that's an issue on BB devices? I guess it happens on botched updates for Android and iOS too. I haven't used a BlackBerry in about 6 years, but here's a site telling how to reload the OS: http://m.crackberry.com/how-reload-os-blackberry-z10-or-blackberry-q10 This other forum says its a waste of time and others had more problems still after reloading it (perhaps the OS was lost due to hardware issues?) https://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Z10/Blackberry-Z10-Flashing-Red-Light/td-p/2631801
G+_Mulbah momo
Alright, the problem here is that the phone doesn't boot at all except for the red light that keeps on blinking when you press the power button.
G+_James Scouten
You may have to hook up to the JTAG pins and open it up if it is worth it most electronics like that have JTAG pins to be serviced.
G+_Ben Reese
If all you're getting is blinking lights, my first thought is a hardware issue. Do the lights seem to be blinking in a pattern? If so, I'm sure there's a troubleshooting guide to say what the issue is. Like on computers, Android has a bootloader that runs first and gives a chance to boot to recovery instead. My guess is that BB OS is similar and there's there to accept updates from the PC if done so correctly. Have you plugged it into the computer to see if it's recognized by the OS?
