G+_Jon Reeves
My buddy is getting forced to go on Sprint. They're taking over because his US Cellular phone will be DOA in a month. He looked at going on Virgin Mobile which seems to have better rates. In any case what do we need to know about compatible Android phones that will work on Sprint/Virgin Mobile? Can he buy any used Nexus 4?
G+_John Blanton (JohnnyF3V
The Nexus 4 is GSM only I do believe. ?http:www.phonearena.com/phones/Google-Nexus-4_id7531

G+_Adam Favre
Never mind... Moto g won't work. Any reason not just go contract phone?
G+_Adam Favre
Or go with Ting.... Rates are better.... Device prices are outright... They are a sprint reseller
G+_John Blanton (JohnnyF3V
Yeah Ting would be a good idea. You only pay for what you use.

G+_Mike Andrews
Joe Phelps I'm trying to convince him to go to AT&T.
G+_Mike Andrews
Adam Favre I just saw that you can get a Samsung Galaxy S4 with Jelly Bean from Costco for $49.99 on a 2 year Sprint contract. I recommended that.
G+_Adam Favre
Mike Andrews as long as he doesn't mind being data less during any major event in metropolitan areas then ATT is a good choice. Any event I attend anywhere (football, concert) neat saint Louis and ATT is OUT immediately. :(? Works great where I live though.
G+_Adam Favre
Mike Andrews because of price... Go 4 it... Not a Samsung fan but not my phone....
G+_Joe Sears
If he has to use Sprint, go with Ting. If you go to twit.ting.com you can get $25 off the price of a phone, or $25 Ting Credit if you buy a used device or bring an existing one to them. cc: TWiT
G+_Joe Phelps
Mike Andrews If you want the best coverage: Verizon then AT&T. The others are a joke.
G+_Kristopher “IrishGreen”
At&t is boss in my area, then Verizon...Sprint is a faded 3rd and T-mobile is non existent. Personally ive never had an area even traveling where i dodnt have 4g....
G+_Mike Andrews
Heh. Really the only reason to go on Sprint is they'll give him a $50 credit as a former US Cellular customer. Actually he gets a call, "You MUST sign a new deal. Your phone is going to stop working!" I don't think reps understand the concept of number portability. Other than that he's up for the best deal. AT&T data coverage where we are near Chicago is screaming fast. My phone won't work well for voice inside the house though. I have a microcell. G+_Stephen Bertoni
Depends on how much he wants to spend on a phone, and where he lives. I seriously doubt I'll ever go back to a contract, and I had Sprint for two years and hated them. Their network speeds are godawful, and their coverage isn't much better than T-Mobile's. Now I have a Nexus 4 and T-Mo. The coverage is bad but I'm only paying $30 a month so I deal with it. ?
