G+_T Burns
4s Battery question: I'm finally rebuilding my quad and I'm using the RTF 2208-2300kv motors with the Rotorgeeks RG20 20A ESCs. I'm planning to get a 2200mah 4S battery to keep from overloading the ESCs. What C rating 4S battery should I get. If my calculations are correct, anything over 10C would overload the ESCs anyway. That doesn't seem right. Am I using the wrong equations?
G+_Jared Cobb
Yes but you don't understand what is being provided. At 10c the batteries can provide the full capacity of the ESC. Only if the motors pull that much power will the batteries provide it. These days you can easily get a 30c battery cheap and at 2200 mah it could provide over 60 amps. But it will only do that if the motors pull that much.
G+_Jason Marsh
Jared Cobb is spot-on here. The availability of the higher discharge rate of the battery won't do anything harmful, except provide a little more flight time, giving more opportunity to crash :)
G+_T Burns
Great, so what are some good brands and great online stores to get a 4s battery?
