G+_All About Android
Tuesday's episode of All About Android was full of energy (to say the least). Jason Howell Ron Richards Florence Ion and guest Mark Burstiner all talking and sometimes yelling (sorry about that) about Android. This week, the reviews are in for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Project Fi opens for all, how Project Soli could eliminate the keyboard on your phone, Google Hands Free Payments, and more! G+_Dan Scott
I love the show and have listened forever, but I (did not) love how the email that asked the AAA hosts and guests why they didn't talk more about the Nvidia Shield TV was handled. Especially after the very recent update to Marshmallow, which would count as news, that seemed like a decent suggestion. But instead of actually talking about the Nvidia Shield TV, the hosts and guests just moaned about how there was no good TV-connected device. At least Jason schooled Ron about the ability to Google Cast to Android TV. I have an Nvidia Shield TV 16GB, and I concur with the person who emailed in that it's pretty great; and now with adoptable storage in Marshmallow, that storage limitation that was my major worry has been lifted: I now have 154GB thanks to a 128GB SD card (although to be honest, even before adoptable storage Android TV did a good job of shifting the bulk of game data over to the SD). The Shield took over the HDMI slot that my 1st gen and then 2nd gen Chromecasts had occupied. So... let me echo the emailer's thoughts, and recommend that the hosts try out a now-almost-year-old top-end Android TV device so that they can form an informed opinion.
