Does anybody know how to WiFi direct to share the internet with my Win 8 laptop and my phone (Android 4.1 on my end, but on any phone for future proof/ any users who want this) (clarify: Reverse tethering. the laptop providing the connection)? Software based and preferably built in & Free

You mean tethering?  Using the internet connection on your cell phone on a laptop.  On almost all cell phone carriers in the US that will be an additional charge.  My carrier (Ting.com) allows free tethering (they charge by how much you use each month, so encouraging more usage means they make more money.)

 

You could maybe get around it with root and a shady app on the phone, but if your cell phone company finds out they will penalize you (more $ per month or dropping your service.)

I accidentally deleted the network from the network list. any way to fix this?
