The Verge reports that Comcast has increased it's trial data caps from around 300 GB to 1024 GB (1 TB).

I can confirm that our data data cap is now 1024 GB, by using Comcast's Internet Usage meter: http://xfinity.com/usagemeter

Maybe the FCC's remarks regarding the merger of Charter and Time Warner Cable got them thinking that the FCC might not approve of the data caps.

> In moving to clear Charter's purchase of Time Warner Cable, the commission

> said it would require the combined company to not apply any data caps for

> seven years. The condition was one among many meant to prevent the

> internet provider from interfering with the development of online video

> businesses.

Randy Hudson I have not idea what they will do after the seven year period...we have to wait and see.

By the way if anyone wants to read the Memorandum Opinion and Order where the conditions of the merger have been noted by the commision you can read the Executive Summary portion of the PDF (http://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2016/db0510/FCC-16-59A1.pdf)

To read statements given by the three commissioners (Clyburn, Pai, and O'Rielly) : https://www.fcc.gov/document/commission-approves-charter-twc-and-bright-house-merger

For the more information on the merger as a whole:
