G+_Santos Cardona
So what went wrong? One of the main difference between Apple and Android is the availability of widgets on the Android devices. People who use Android love the access to important information without having to open an app. To take this feature away takes away what makes Android different to many users. Do people use Facebook? Yes! Do people want this to be front and center on their phone? No! Many people use their phone as a computer so making it more difficult for people to access the content they want outside of Facebook will not work. Facebook wants to be the center of your communication needs, but users have decided this is not what they want. People are comfortable with email, text, and basic phone calls. These same users use Facebook to post random thoughts so friends and family can see whats going on. I know very few people who actually use it in a conversational manner. I realize HTC was looking for a way to differentiate their devices from everything else on the market, and thats not a bad thing. Android devices are a dime a dozen, finding the good ones is hard. HTC has a solid contender when it comes to hardware, so how do they separate this device from the masses? I believe if they would take this hardware and put a pure Android experience on the phone they would have a winner. If HTC has developed apps that work well with this phone and make the device better in any way then offer them to users in the Google Marketplace. Give the user the option to either use the Google developed Android camera app or go to the store and get the HTC app. Other than the Google Nexus line of devices there are no other pure Android phones on the market. By HTC doing this they differentiate themselves and offer a very good choice in hardware. HTC, why not give it a try? Your going to have plenty of the phones available to use to test this theory. Recall all the handsets, reinstall just Android, put them back in stores and see what happens. The answer maybe nothing, but what does it hurt to try at this point? http://bgr.com/2013/05/13/htc-first-discontinued-att-facebook-phone/

G+_Josh Frye
Thank god, I can now tell people to get this phone if they get rid of the infernal Facebook crud.
