G+_610GARAGE
!Warning YAQC (yet another quad crash)! Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Is there a prize for the stupidest reason to crash, because I think I may have won it. This is the 2nd time I tried to get a high aerial shot with my gopro. I send it up into the air, everything is fine until it hits the stupid air stream that seems to be above my house. So I start descending, while trying to keep the quad in my yard. Then the wind blows and my one eye is blocked by my hair (i've been meaning to get a haircut since December, what I've been busy) I get the hair out of my eye, but it is now over the farmer's field (the same one I crashed in the first time), I cut throttle to get it close to the ground. I see it, I try to bring it back toward me, the wind blows again, with hair in my eyes I just see a bloom of dirt from the area that my quad used to be. The worst part is the farmer spread manure in that area earlier in the week. Luckily they tilled the field since then but sill..... Damage was minimal. Just a broken propeller. Although, I am impressed in what the alien X quad can do. I have a 500mah, 3s battery that weighs close to a pound on the quad. I also have my gopro in a hard case with the battery backpack on it, and it still flew great. At Least as far as I could tell. P.S. Incase your wondering why there is so much jelloing, my anti vibration plate broke and my propes need to be rebalanced. Also, I'm getting a haircut tuesday. Maybe then I can get a good aerial shot. G+_Travis Hershberger
Looks like you've got a great place to fly with all that farmland around you.... I'd be surprised if they don't ask you for some footage when it's time for them to do crop surveys.

G+_kevin F.
Aww, I got that beat! How about when I put in a battery that I was using to break-in some motors the night before and the battery had just 'nuff juice left got get the quad to an altitude that really did some damage. Or the time the quads battery slipped from its housing and was dangling by its connector until I clipped the top of a huge pine tree. The battery disconnected and as far as I know it's still in that tree. The quad? I'll never see that one again, it went into the river. I did follow its a while, running and stumbling along the river bank catching glimpses of it as it bobbed up and down in the rapids but it was hopeless. G+_610GARAGE
Travis Hershberger Yea, it kinda nice to walk outside and be able to walk outside and fly my quad without worrying about dodging houses ,trees, or people. Although, I do sometimes have to dodge birds. kevin F. That does seem pretty bad, but i don't know if you beat me. They seem like legitimate mistakes. I crashed because I didn't feel like getting my hair cut for the last 6 months. :)
G+_kevin F.
Well, I treed my quad twice this morning breaking off a motor mount and got 2 gigs of jello video. Can't win lately. Hair is over rated and in your case maybe even dangerous. I can grow hair but I cut it whenever starts.
