YAQC(yet another quad crash, I'm still hoping to coin an acronym) I replaced the motors and it was flying great, right upto the point that one motor cut out. The quad dropped like a rock. Luckily it was only 10 feet in the air. The only casualty is a broken leg. What happened is that flux got onto the barrel connector and caused the connection to fail.

So here's the question. Whats the best way to remove rosin flux and how do you prevent the flux from covering the connector.

Barry Brown Thanks. I swished the connector in alcohol and wiped them off. It seemed to work.

I know that adding connectors adds failure points, but I think that the risk is worth the added convenience of being able to exchange parts quickly and easily. I also find that it makes repairs simpler because you can easily remove parts that are in the way. But that's just my personal preference.
