I just watched KH325 and was surprised by Padre showing the NAS drive running at 75F. In my QNAP TS251+ With Seagate NAS drives, the drives typically run at 98F. Can any of you share the temperatures your drives rub at while in an enclosure.

My NAS had pretty low usage but gets pinged about every 15 min to check for be files, which keeps the drives spun up more than I'd like... But I've come to terms with the activity.

i believe seagates have a dead zoning issue on run time

you might be getting to the life limit of the hard drives

and typically if you have large cage it would pay not to fill up all drive bays and cage coolers to dissipate the heat

harddrives ten to die in the arse when stacking the on top of each with no cooling options between hard drives..

I can't speak to the Seagate NAS drives but I can tell you that when my Drobo NAS are idle the temperature of the drives is pretty close to room temperature. When one of the drobos (I have four each loaded with five drives) is performing a backup that the operating temp rises to about 85 degrees. It varies a bit within the Drobo depending on which of the drives is active. I hope that helps.
