G+_Michel Yeager
Hello. I have a question. I am new to surface mount soldering. I would like to get some solder in a syringe but I am not sure what brand to get. Can someone make a suggestion please. I just want something simple to use with little to no cleanup. Thanks. G+_Eddie Foy
Kester, multicore if they make paste. Like Scott W said get from DigiKey, Mouser, Newark/Elemet14, etc. A name brand from a big name supplier and you should be fine. I wouldn't buy from a sparkfun/adafruit, ebay, etc. Don't use too much!! But it also reduces as its heated/melts. Practice first. Destroy some old boards of dead items. Even test it out on through hole to gauge how it reacts and amount needed. Now it has a shelf life and should be kept refrigerated. Now that said.... I have a tube that's easily 5 years expired and still solders fine. Just gotta stir it up a bit, and tends to have a bit extra flux to clean up.
