G+_Bernard Bout
Finally installed my Samsung 500GB EVO SSD. It came with some transfer software tht was quite USELESS My original HD was 1 TB, logically split into 2 drives and the SSD was 500 GB, and the software wanted to copy the WHOLE drive and complained that there was no space on the SDD. Also tried Acronis and that too was quite useless, with similar problems. Finally used a FREE software - Macrium Reflet at www.macrium.com that showed me the disks and partitions (including the hidden) and allowed me to drag-n-drop them on the SSD. Beautiful. I have one Question though: I have Win 10 Activated as an upgrade and now want to do a clean install. If I boot from DVD/USB and do the clean install, what happens to my UEFI BIOS. Will it be copied to the new install? Currently it is in one of the hidden partitions but doing a clean install will wipe that out. Any ideas? It is a custom UEFI Bios from ASUS. http://www.macrium.com
G+_Steve C
Macrium Reflet is obviously NOT FREE software. Were you able to use the Trial version successfully to do what you needed?
G+_Phil Chung
There is a free version of Macrium Reflect - http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
G+_Darryl Gibbs
Steve C , as Phil said. There is a free version. I've been using it well over a year. It's fantastic! Bernard Bout , There are other ways to get the Win10 ISO I believe, but I used that udpate app MS released where you did your upgrade from, and within that you can choose the relavent ISo that you need (32/64bit, Home/Pro, language etc) and then put that ISO on to a USB/DVD and you're good to go. Since your copy of Windows 10 is already activated, you can skip past any activation requests you may recieve as once you get into Windows, it will sort itself out as long as you've logged in with the same Windows account. G+_Bernard Bout
Steve C Macrium Reflect IS obviously FREE software for those who want to use the free version. If you want to use the Trial version you are FREE to do so. For me the FREE version did exactly what I wanted it to do. You can download it and Try for yourself from the link kindly provided by Phil Chung. Could someone please answer my Q about the UEFI Bios instead of questions about TRIAL software. G+_Steve C
Macrium doesn't host the free version, it seems to only be available from Download.com! That's a deal breaker! You guys weren't stupid enough to download their installer and get their malware, were you?
G+_Darryl Gibbs
Bernard Bout I'm not sure your fears exactly about the BIOS, but all 3 of my machines have no changes to their UEFI BIOS's. So I think you shouldbe fine. Steve C you need to calm down there buddy. Yes Downloads.com is far from perfect, but I downloaded the exact .exe needed, no extra crap came with it. I ran a malware scan on the install and after installation. Additionally, after running the in app updates, I got a fresh installer directly from Macrium. So thats good enough for me. So maybe hold back on the insults. Not everyone is naive enough to go in blindly.

G+_Steve C
Don't get smart, you are the one with the malware. If you don't believe me just Google it or watch The Techguy Show, Leo talks about that all the time and I verified it myself.
G+_Steve C
Well I emailed them to ask if they had a way to download it without getting infected but since they say they don't support the Free version they might not even answer so I'll try MajorGeeks.
